Jennifer Lukomski
Jennifer Lukomski, received her undergraduate degree in History from Williams College , her Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing from Gallaudet University and her Doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Arizona . Her postdoctoral work was completed at the University of Tennessee Center for Developmental Disabilities. She is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist who is recognized by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She has received Level 1 and Level II training in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Her counseling orientation is a combination of family systems, cognitive behavior therapy and solution focused therapy. She has expertise in working with adjustment issues, deaf and hard of hearing related issues, grief and loss, sexual abuse, anxiety and depression disorders. Her American Sign Language skills have been rated as Advanced on the Sign Competency Proficiency Interview (SCPI).
Caroline I. Magyar, Ph.D.
Dr. Magyar received her undergraduate psychology degree from Stony Brook University, her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Adelphi University, and her doctoral degree in Clinical/School Psychology from Hofstra University. Dr. Magyar completed a pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the Institute for Behavior Therapy in New York City where she continued to practice until her relocation to Rochester in 1999. Dr. Magyar is a full-time Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine and Dentistry. She specializes in neurodevelopmental and behavioral disorders, including assessment and treatment of children and adults with autism spectrum and related disorders. In addition, Dr. Magyar provides cognitive-behavioral therapy for the treatment of anxiety, depression, and eating disorders in children, adolescents, and adults.
Dr. Magyar is a member of the American Psychological Association and the National Association of School Psychologists. She is the recipient of state and federal grants for autism assessment and treatment and has authored or co-authored papers and chapters on autism spectrum disorders.
Ernesto
Michelucci, Ph.D.
Dr. Michelucci has been in private practice for the last 15 years. He received his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toledo in Ohio. He did his Clinical Internship in the Department of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Ohio, where he was trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, and Hypnotherapy.
Dr. Michelucci believes that psychologists are best viewed as consultants, who can provide suggestions and guidance on how to manage difficult life situations, leaving the final decisions to the individual. Dr. Michelucci emphasizes the importance of being proactive and seeking consultations early, whenever possible, to avoid having to overcome the larger difficulties associated with problems left unattended for too long.
Dr. Michelucci has conducted research in the areas of cross-cultural psychology and ethnicity, with focus on world views and how they influence relationships and coping styles, as well as on hypnotic susceptibility with emphasis on healthy skill development.
Dr. Michelucci’s approach in working with clients focuses on the existing strengths of the individual as well as on developing more effective strategies or skills for minimizing acute or recurring difficulties. He has recently completed advanced training in Mind-Body Medicine at The Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, DC.
Dr. Michelucci was born and reared in Florence, Italy and is completely fluent in English and Italian. He is a member of the American Psychological Association.
